In the ratings war. it ended up in 77th place among 95 programs rated that night. Of the specials, Bill Cosby's Fat Albert placed first; Johnny Carson's was second, then Diana Ross and the Supremes, and finally the Rockwell special. The special about inflation, presented Monday night on ch. IL seemed to be about as simply and effectively told as possible. By use of graphs, other animatlon, pictures of per. sons demonstrating against high prices, and discussions, the program delved into the situation as much as is possible in an hour. Although some persons might quarrel with points made, th eproducers did attempt to present opposing sides of the reasons for inflation and possible cures. Interesting was the point that prices were fairly level from 1961 until 1965. In the latter year, the Vietnam war started to affect the economy. - w.
