In fact, this series will feature some of the top stars of the day character and otherwise. Movie of the Week begins on Ch. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. That's the spot it will occupy each Tuesday. The ABC network has committed $16 million to the series Each film will be original to television. The producers are using the best technical equipment and paying top prices for the 25 movies they will present this year. They are so sure the series will be successful that they are planning ahead for next season, according to Barry Diller, vice president of ABC who is in genera! charge "f the series. Mr. Diller said all the shows are geared for the family. He said there will be no offensive scenes. This doesnt mean, he added, that children will like them all, or even half of them, but they will be directed at the whole 4 family. He said the senes will feature the acting talent of youngsters as well as veterans. Included among performers will be Janet Leigh, Walter George Mahans, Brennan, Sammy Davis Jr., Jack Malone, Dorothy Albertson, Jill St. John, Ruth Buzzi and Sebastian Cabot. The first production, titled Seven in Darkness, is a suspenseful action-adventur- e film about the bGnd survivors of a plane crash, who fight their way down a rugged mountain to civilization. - Stars are Milton Berle, Dina Merrill, Arthur 0 Connell, Alejandro Rey, Lesley Ann Warren rmzabeth WalkBarry Nelson stars in new ABC Movie of the Week. er, Scan Garrison and Barry Nelson.
