County h commissioners Wednesday rceived a, .letter making the recommendation from J. Rex Mackay, flood control director. County officials began planning how to rid the area of water after a Sandy youth while drowned swimming alone. His body was found in the murky water a few days urgency sur- rounds the Ogden action. City Manager Charles Kelley told the council that someone had to take action to prove the legal technicalities of the new court ruling one way or the other. SOMEONE MUST Corporation Counsel Jack Richards said, Someone has got to do it sooner or later and it might just as well be someone with a vital interest in the matter such as Ogden. The plan the council is considering is to pass the ordinance authorizing the bond and then election having someone file a suit against the city. This will force the issue to the Supreme Court where a firm ruling will bs handed down. GROUND PURCHASE Mackay told commissioners the plan would require purchase of some ground between the garbage dump and 7th East on Dry Creek. The low property would be filled by removing the top on the garbage dump and making a sanitary fill. Dirt from the sides of the steep gulch would be used to cover the garbage. Commissioners were also told that a pipe approximately 72 inches in diameter would be placed through the garbage to keep the water drained away. REFER PLAN The plan was referred to Vera Brlnghurst, director san-- i t j t i o n department, and Lamont B. Mom put the flour in my hands and said, youll never win until you try, Mrs. Algier tesified. For her labors Mrs. Allgier won 100 pounds of sugar and about $112. I figure I just about broke even, not count- ing the labor, she said. The trophy is what we work for, not the money. Weve always been at one anothers side, baking or canning, and weve both learned Aide Promoted have City commissioners approved promotion of Roger L.
