The type of park being considered includes baseball diamonds, areas for other sports, grassy areas, and ill Loweries. The park would be mostly geared for the youth or young adult, but also would be available for the older person and families if they decided to go to the park, he added. Swensen suggested that a committee of youths could be formed to help in the planning stages, with a later responsibility for helping to enforce the parks rules and regulations. He said a location would be selected away from residential areas where loud music might cause disturbance. Youths are being requested to submit their ideas and suggestions on the park to the recreation department, 5177 S. State, Murray. SKATE RINK The board gave approval for an investigation into purchase of ice skating rink equipment for possible use in the Murray Park area. Swensen reported equipment available in the Provo area at a cost of $40,000, with $10,000 required for installation. New equipment would cost about $100,000 for purchase and installation, he reported. The board recommended that soil tests be conducted on 105 acres of ground near 1800 East on Creek Road as a possible future site for a golf course. A golf course manager also will investigate the property. The recreation department has a balance of $311,655 remaining in the 1969 budget of $844,200, officials reported, Q 1 zi ;oe ia;aiaiffleEoemwFm.Uoui o whS nrrHT.g WlS 3 Oi jyir) uSB' iJHin g n SVlv d m mi 57 'ufet ?2 New Westinghouse 1 10 Cu.
