To Missiles By DELL VAN ORDEN Church News Assistant Editor time is an exciting time for Its a time to go places things and have fun in the great outdoors. Summer Den and pack activities have been designed to provide outdoor adventures for the Cubs, helping them to progress on the Scouting trail. Field trips to study the wonders of nature, cookouts to learn the secrets of cooking outdoors and lours of military posts, historic sites, museums and other points of interest are just a few of the many activities planned for Cubs throughout the Church this summer. June was Things That Go month and activities were planned to illustrate the theme. July is Cub Scout Chefs month and it is suggested that Cubs have a pack picnic cookout at which they prepare most of the food. August is family adventure month and it is recommended the pack held a family-styl- e outing to draw families closer together. As an exarr.pe of Things That Go activities, Cub Scouts from North Jordan 11th Ward in Granger, Utah, recently toured Tooele Army Depot and viewed the nations military might. The tour was capped by a ride in a tank. The whole success of the Cub program depends upon the attitude and participation of the parents.
