Sister McKay received an honorary Golden Gleaner award. n June "This month the Young Womens Mutual Improvement Association will holds its world conference in Salt Lake City, Rep. Burton said. The organization is made up of young1 women between the ages of 12 and 24 and has as its goals the promoting of patriotism, obedience to law, health, education and mor- ality." The Utah Congressmans bill outlined a brief history of the auxiliary: "The YWMIA, as we know it in the Mormon Church, was organized Nov. 28, 1869 and has touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of young women during the last 100 years, Burton added. The YWMIA has helped these young girls prepare for their future and has shown them how to make meaningful contributions to their families, their church, and to their communities. Rep. Burton called on his colleagues in the House to pay tribute to the organization during this milestone in Mormon Church history. Ctlor Cover by Jack E.
