In the story, the young daughter of Liz has been drowned and Miss Taylor, a fading prostitute, is remorseful when she sets out one morning to visit the church and cemetery. On the bus, she is accosted by Miss Farrow. It develops that Miss Farrow, a wealthy heiress of 23 with the mind of a has recently lost her own mother. 'The drama is superbly acted, but transitions in mood are bothersome such as when Miss Taylor hits Miss Farrow and again when Miss Farrow orders Miss Taylor out of the mansion. Also, I came away wondering if any point had been made. Anyway, the drama develops as Miss Farrow has Miss Taylor move into her mansion with her. While the story brings out points that might point up reasons for the odd behavior of both Miss Farrow and Miss Taylor, it hardly seems the type of production that would attract long lines of moviegoers on a stormy, cold night. But that it did. She thinks Miss Taylor is her mother.
