The present system requires that a person evaluate and interpret many ambiguities in assembling whole families on sheets before temple ordinance work can be done, said Elder Theodore M. Burton, vice president and general manager of the Genealogical Society. One of he important changes with the new system is that the majority of names submitted will be on single entry forms rather than on the familiar family group record sheet. The single entry will make it possible fcr temple ordinances to be completed for individuals without having to wait until the whole family group has been gathered and verified," he said. The GIANT program involves procedures only. The goals have not changed. The statement made by the Prophet Joseph Smith that the greatest responsibility in this world that God has laid, upon us is to seek after our dead,' still stands,," Elder Burton said.
