' THE OGDEN (UTAH) Auto Licenses 1 Soar Toward Psychiatrist to STANDARD-EXAMINE- THURSDAY EVENING Speak High Davis P-- All-Tim- e SALT LAKE CITY April 20— Utahns are fast becoming a mobile lot according to the increasing number of vehicle registrations that are being recorded with the Utah state tax commission With this increasing trade in motor vehicles the ta commission is faced with the problem of increasing the number of license plates that can be made available to the public It is noted on records at the tax commission office that since the close of World war II a steady increase in the number of motor vehicle registration appears annually During 1948 a total of 235596 cars trucks and trailers were registered with the stats tax commission and during 1949 the total registration increased by more than 20000 making a total of 258733 At the close of March 1950 the total registration of passenger cars and trucks reached 194506 with the remaining nine months expected to push the total registration to nearly 275000 With the present numbering system only slightly over 200000 passenger car license plates can be issued for any one calendar year thus with the 1949 registration utilizing 203707 plaes the tax commission has felt tne need for additional plates With 1950 registrations looming as an all time high it has become necessary to use some of the "undesirable letters" such a?
