| Show SOCIETY mrs S C wixom entertained at a birthday party friday afternoon for her little daughter edith A very delightful afternoon was spent in playing games and partaking of refreshments mrs wixom was assisted lu in entertaining by miss mildred valentine the guests were hazel and edna jensen lucille poulson winnie winnic Va valentine entine mary and pearl smith vaudis valentine emma anima rhea aliea valentine paul hoist frank Fis liburn and grant wixom thursday evening the tabernacle choir turned its regular weekly practice into hito a melon bust the festivities being staged on dr willeys Wll Wil leys lawn law III two big lamps illuminated heated the grounds ground 3 like unto noon day and as a various outdoor games were played after which three dozen big water melons and four our dozen cantaloupe were rolled into a pile in the center of the lawn slid and there quartered and quartered again while the g guests bests came forward and helped themselves it was some bust from more points than one and when the battle was over the remnants bore mute testimony to the havoc wrought musical numbers were rendered by world artists on the and it was well on toward midnight before the last of the merrymakers merry makers took their leave those present at the social included the members their husbands wives and sweethearts and there were about eighty present the choir will now new settle down to regular work every thursday evening in order to be in shape for winter service last Sa saturday turdy afternoon waster master marlow anderson celebrated his birthday by giving a party to a number of his juvenile friends ile he was very ably assisted by ills his mama and the little folks spent a delightful two hours playing games and absorbing the th e delicious refreshments which mrs anderson prepared and served there was a whole houseful presents present k V last wednesday evening supt bupt charles edwards and family mr air and and mrs J 11 kirkham mr air and mrs C R wing and other ibern members of the sugar factory family who came from garland to brigham went out to gar garland to be entertained by their former associates whop who arranged a grand reception and farewell the festivities included a program of speeches and music refreshments and dancing the festivities extended for into the night so far that those who drove up from this city in autos did not get back home hame until nearly time to go to work next morning but everybody had a good time and the local sugar people deeply appreciate the kind consideration of their friends at the sugar factory in garland |
