Accent on People Jessica Barney wins in state contest Public employees are honored at banquet Kaylene Birch & David Yardley will be married Couple to say vows Jesse D. and Pauline Birch, Ephraim, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Kaylene, to Mark David Y ardley, son of Gene R. and Anita Yardley, May-fielon Saturday, October 8, 1988 in the Manti LDS Temple. The couple will be honored that evening at a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ephraim 5 Ward Chapel. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. The bride is a graduate of Manti High School and LDS Seminary. She lettered in Volleyball, Basketball, and track and received Academic awards in volleyball and basketball, as well as the Manti High School Outstanding Track and Volleyball awards. She d, All-Sta- te was a member of the band, National Honor Society, Closeup, Prom Chainnan, and was selected as Top Templer. She also served on the Seminary Council for two years. The groom is a graduate of Gunnison Valley High School and LDS Seminary. He was valedictorian, lettered in track, cross country track, wrestling and baseball, received the Outstanding Athlete Award his Junior and Senior years, the JayCee Outstanding Youth Award, and was active in the FFa where he received many awards. He is an Eagle Scout and served an LDS Mission to Finland. He has attended Snow College and is presently attending Utah State University. The couple plan to make their home in Logan and continue their education. SANPETE COUNTY FAIR The Sorosis Club meeting was held September 28, at 9 p.m., with Dorisa Horton as Hostess. Since he became foreman, Oylers road areas was voted the most improved in the region. The awards were presented at a recognition banquet. Public employees from Sevier, Sanpete and Wayne counties were recently recognized as some of the States most dedicated workers. Lorraine C. Jensen, Elsinore was noted for her efforts as an office manager and construction technician for the Utah Department of Transportation. Darleen Anderson, Ephraim, Snow College was Ms. Jensens runner up. Lester Oyler, of Loa, of UDOT also qualified. Mrs. Jensen was described as self motivated and always searching for ways to improve the office and working conditions. She devised several forms to help fellow crew members make their jobs run more efficiently. Lorraine is always willing to put forth extra effort to do things right, said her nominator. Besides keeping busy with her career, she is involved in church work, community theatre, and local sports activities.
