Lamar and Caroline Bartholomew and children of Medos-tCA visited last week with M-rLamar Izola Bartholomew. returned home to his work and Caroline and her children are visiting this week with Izola. Mary Nance of Calvcr, CA. is also visiting this week with Izola. Marian Walker of Murray visited five days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Johnson. The family members of Thelma James and the last Erval James held their family reunion Sunday at Salina Canyon. Most of the family was there and enjoyed dinner and visiting. Joe Mellor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Mellor spent a week visiting his cousin Chad Sorenson in Salt Lake. Thursday his mother Carla and grandmother Melba went to Salt Lake did som-- e shopping and visited with the Sorensons and brought Joe home. Charles and Connie Neil-so- n of California came to Utah for Connies 30 year class reunion and also for the Nielson Family Reunion. They visited last week with Charles parents and also with Connies parents Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Christensen. Jean Christensen, Virgil and Eldas daughter will return to Eugene, Oregon, Thursday after spending the past three weeks with her parents. Mr. and Wendell Christensen and sons NAthan and Thayne of Salt Lake visited Sunday and Monday with the Christensen. Participating in this were Jennifer Johnson, Shelly Jensen, Stacy Jensen, and Jed Willardson. Tuesday, Jennifer and Shelly were in Manti to participate in the regional Horse Show. The team Shelly was on took 2nd place and the team Jennifer was on took fourth. Wednesday Shelly participated in the Goat Show along with Marie Mayer and both girls did very well. Monday, the girls who took sewing, were asked to model their outfits before they turned them in to be judged. The Elders held their Water Slide Party Friday evening at the KC Water Slide in Richfield. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the weather was just right even if the wind did blow a little. Donuts and punch bags were served as the refreshments. Sunday a new Elders quorum was sustained. Sherri Taylor gave her lesson and Sandra Neilsen gave a short book report before the ladies started tieing quilts. A luncheon was served to those in attendance and a nursery was also offered. The reunion was held at the Christensen Cabin at Accord Lakes. There were 47 family members in attendance. Karrol and Loma Draper have recently returned home from filling a mission for the LDS Church in Snoma, California. Robbie Jensen, son of Gary and Lola Jensen received the Office of Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood Sunday. Chad Mickelsen, son of Joy and Myron Mickelsen, Russell Chidester, son of Craig and Brenda Chidester and Chris Ball, son of Kenny and Stephanie Ball participated in a Cub Scout Fishlake District Olympics, Saturday in Richfield. Redmond boys came away with the most combined total points. This enables the boys to participate in Spanish Fork later against the winner of other districts. Way to g o Boys! The group stayed in St. George and visited the old Cotton Mill in Washington that has been restored. Quay and Sharon Mccham and family were happy to have Kevin and Cory Sampson visit with them last week from Salt Lake. They also visited grandma Bemiua Mccham and with Lcisa and Adrain Harward and family in Gunnison. Their parents arc Joyce and Darrell Sampson. Phyllis and Wayne Nelson enjoyed having three of their granddaughters visit with them for a few days. Brittainy, Brooke, and Allisa Flannery stayed with their grandparents while their parents flew to Texas. Visiting at the Lynn Sorenson home Saturday was Sue Richard and Phyllis Cowley and Joe and Logan returned home Friday Night from a ten day trip to the Mid We- st. They visited a night in Dcs Moines, Iowa with friends Cliff and Bobs Martin and then spent a night in Elgin, Illinois son Paul and Lynne Larson and family. Another son Craig Cowley from California was in Illinois on business and also visited with them at Pauls home. Joe and Logan stayed in Elgin with their cousins while Dick and Phyllis traveled to East Tawas, Michigan on Lake Huron to attend a three day reunion of Dicks Army friends. Rushmore at the Black Hills, Buffalo Bill Cody Museum at Cody, Wyoming and a trip all through smoldering Yellowstone National Park. Joe and Logan enjoyed a visit to Brookfield' Zoo in Chicago with their cousins. Don and Eunice Dcsp-ai- n attended a Family Reunion at Maple Grove on Saturday. There were 55 members of Eunices Fathers family there to enjoy the get together. Joan Newman enjoyed going to lunch and visiting w: ith daughter in law, Annette Newman and daughter Salina who were visiting here from Ogden. Annette was down to give a tribute to her mother Harrop in the Fayette Ward Relief Society. Elwood and Julie Sorenson were in Provo Friday to attend the graduation of a son in law Milton Johnson. Milton is the husband of Christine. Nanette Dcspains yearling Suffolk won reserve grand champion at the Sevier County Fair Livestock show. Her two years old gelding took first place in its class this last week. Jo-An- Lynn Hyatt and her daughter Kelli spent a few days in California visiting Lynns mom and sister and getting somethings for Kellis upcoming wedding. A Relief Society work meeting Tuesday evening the lesson was given by Judy Buckland and a mini class on food drying was given by Lori Despain Beck. Refreshments were furnished by Essie Sorenson and Lucille Thorpe. The Young Women were reorganized Sunday at MIA. Nancy Bertelson is the Laurel President with Stacie Buckland and Michelle Draper as her counselors. Marcie Despain is the Secretary. Grover Childs for being chosen Sanpete County 1988 King Cowboy. He has been an active farmer and rancher for over 40 years. It is an honor to join the distinguished list of Sanpete County Cowboys. They moved to Garth Frandsen s cabin where there was lots of food, visiting and getting acquainted with each other. They talked about their grandparents and what each one could remember about them, those from this area that attended were Allen and Evelyn Frandsen and grandson Eric, Sheldon and Bjerregaard, Erma Frandsen, LaVona Bradley and Bessie Frandsen. They also celebrated Bessies 87th birthday. Harold and Ilcene Jensen, Florence Wilson of Mona, Jensen of Doug and Norma Redmond and Bessie Frandsen attended the pageant at Castlc- E-d- 528-322- 1 Dalc. John K. Reid answered President Brigham Youngs request to build up that county. Mr. Reid was one of their ancestors. The Single Adults of Gunnison Valley attended a barbecue at the Gunnison City Park on Monday. They enjoyed a delicious dinner of Dutch Oven potatoes and chicken and all the trimmings.
