Natural Gas v WA TER HEA TING-DRYIN- G The Way It Looks From Here Carol L. Jensen did inspire my purchasing an issue of a major Utah newspaper, but it didnt do much to increase my respect or trust in those who care for Utahs future. It happened during the last session of Utahs State It Legislature. One of the bills passed was Senate Bill 209. This enterprising bill requires that dealers in drugs, and those who purchase or sell these drugs, must pay tax upon the money exchanged. know those drug dealers and pushers will be lining up by the hundreds to pay their just taxes! Why the Tax Commission may have to hire more employees just handle the flood! To make it easier for these people to pay their taxes, have been given the option of not using their real name. they This new promise of anonymity should set a new precedent for others who may be habitual breakers of the law. Maybe those who are planning to drink and drive could send their checks in early; or those who may be thinking of driving 80 miles an hour to get to Grandmas house could save the law enforcement officers the bother of stopping them and writing them a ticket, by sending their fine in before they begin. It would ave a lot of hassle for the law enforcement people, and a lot of embarrassment for the violator, who would avoid being seen by friends and neighbors as the red lights pull them over to the side. Using a fictitious name would be great. could really use Gloria Sunburst, or Susie Spectacle, and see how it felt to be somebody else - while paid my bill at least. Our legislators put a lot of time and talent into making decisions that will affect everyone in the state - one way or another. This decision will certainly be one of them. It may give us all a belly laugh to begin with, but as the laugh subsides, the reality of the passage of such a bill should send the chills that should make us carefully consider who we send to the Legislature to shape our future in coming years.
