Seaman returns Navy Seaman Apprentice John C. Lampe, son of Kees P. and Johanna M. Lampe of 770 North State in Sigurd, Utah, recently I, returned from a five and one-hal- f month deployment to the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger, homeported in San Diego. The deployment ended the USS Rangers 18th deployment to the Western pacific where Lampe participated in supporting U.S. He also visited the Sublic Bay, Republic of the Navy operations. He served an LDS Mission to Fukuoka Japan, and graduated from BYU. Deborah graduated from Paint Branch High School in 1977, and graduated from Maiy Washington College. Both Deborah and Jerold are employed by the U.S. government in National Security. They plan to make their home in Columbia, Maryland. Ji.U Navy Band to perform at Snow U.S. tion, with its 52 members. New Arrivals manufacture houseboats in Manti A newly organized firm in Manti expects to launch its first houseboat on Lake Powell by April first of this year, according to Jim Davidson, president of the group. Americraft feels there is a ready market for the 16 x 16 foot houseboats it markets. Americraft will mainly handle and marketing the distribution phase of the operation. Two other local firms will be involved in the venture. Smith and Jones, headed by Steve McKinley, will handle the production phase of the houseboat building operation. Medford Industries, which came to Manti recently from San Diego, will fabricate the fibreglass used in the boats. Houseboat superstructures and cabins will be built in the budding, as well as the final assembly taking place there. Five to 10 people are expected to be initially employed, with expansion planned.
