If I say I hope it doesn't snow and it docs snow that isn't my fault either Even our poor misinformed TV weather people don't know what's going on nor what to predict Just the other day I saw their graphic of y forecast Sunshine was the five-da- predicted until Friday and then it is going to storm The next day sunshine was predicted for five days except Saturday this time when it is going to storm What does it all mean? Obviously what we want and even what the experts" forecast arc not necessarily what we'll geL So if I hope for sunshine it might shine and it might not But I refuse to feel guilty if I love the warm weather in January I won't take the responsibility of the temperatures And I'm going to enjoy it — guilt free Nobody knows more than I do how much we need moisture Noenvironbody wants a drought-fre- e ment more than I do But my wishes aren't going to change iL And if I love the sunshine coming down instead of snow I'm not going to feel guilty So if I don't feel guilty why do I feel guilty about not feeling guilty? have from our area residents Our bleachers and scats should be packed at everything that goes on I am appalled when I see more people in attendance from the visiting teams than our own school supporters and students WHY IS THAT? legislative council Superintendent Brent Thome said the trust placed in these individuals by their colleagues is impressive "It sends a message to me that board members from Sevier will be having an impact on Utah education few years to come" he stated I refuse to feel guilty because weather is nice and I like it Were You A Supporter? If you have not supported any of these events you are the loser Debbie Barney Pres South Sevier Booster Club Elsinore A perplexing question arose the other day What docs a person mean when they say "this Tuesday" or " "this any other particular day? Is it the same as "next T uesday"? Wait Before you pounce at the problem I propose there are a few perplexing points lo ponder If today is Wednesday docs "this Tuesday" mean yesterday or the Tuesday that is coming up? It's a tense situation indeed Meaning tense dictates which Tuesday is meant For instance "This Tuesday I went skiing" shows the Tuesday in question has already passed whereas "This Tuesday I'm going skiing" can be yesterday or next week Most people I asked said that "this Tuesday" was the Tuesday that was coming up What about "next Tuesday?" Now to me "next" implied the one "next immediately following Tuesday" being the Tuesday immediately following whatever today is Most people I asked agreed with this definition But doesn’t that make "this Tuesday" and "next Tuesday" exactly the same Tuesday? Now one person I asked said that "next Tuesday" is actually the Tuesday after the Tuesday coming up But if that's the case if today is Wednesday January 26th then "this Tuesday" would be the Tuesday coming up or February 2nd and "next Tuesday" would be the Tuesday following or February 9th I know if today Wednesday I said "next Tuesday" I certainly wouldn't mean two Tuesdays down the road What if a person says "Tuesday after next"? I would assume they mean the Tuesday after the Tuesday coming up But I guess they could mean the Tuesday after the Tuesday after the Tuesday coming up "Two weeks from Tuesday is much easier! What about "last Tuesday"? If it were a Wednesday is last Tuesday yesterday or a week ago yesterday? And is "Tuesday next" the same as next Tuesday (which may very well be the same as "this Tuesday") and if someone says "A week ago Tuesday" do they mean a week ago last this Tuesday or next Tuesday Tuesday? father used to say "If it’s Tuesday it must be summer" I guess as my Charges Dropped Against St George Auto Dealer Six felony counts against St George auto dealer Dewey Sargent have been dropped by the Fifth District Court Sargent formerly of Richfield and Marysvale had been charged by Washington County alleging six counts of felony theft from the d dealership Sunshine Auto Sales now-close- The court dismissed counts one through 10 against Sargent after leging "theft by fiduciary" al- The charges were requested by the Motor Vehicle Enforcement Di vision by its investigator Larry BalL Sargent was arrested Sept 24 in Bremerton Wash on a Utah war- rant The two e and four felony charges alleged that Sargent siphoned money from Sunshine Auto Sales where he was general manager into another corthird-degre- second-degre- e poration Cars Cedar Post Wholesale After taking the matter to court all charges against Sargent were dropped |
