Mrs. Pearl Wintch was voted a new member of the club. Mrs. John R. Nielson had visitors over the weekend for the Steven Johnson wedding. The visitors were Eve Nielson, Provo; Mrs. Margaret Peterson and daughters, Dana and Lesa, Sandy, and two granddaughters, Marla Carbine, BYU, and Mrs. Nancy Madsen and her husband, Idaho Falls. Clinton Braithwaite had ma- jor surgery at the Sanpete Hospital in Mt. Pleasant Saturday and is now making satisfactory recovery, his wife reports. Carol Cox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Cox, came from Las Vegas, Nev., to visit her family over the weekend. He had let his brother Merrill off at his home and on turning around homeward bound the vehicle slipped, falling on his left leg and breaking both large and small bones. The large bone had penetrated the ankle joint. Rodney is still in the Utah Valley Hospital at Provo. A weekend trip to Lehman Caves, Nev., and pinenut hunting was enjoyed by a group of 31 Mantians, including their children. Bryant Lund entered the University Hospital in Salt Lake City last Friday for observation. He so far has received six pints of blood and is reported as getting along satisfactorily. The group spent the weekend pine nut hunting. her granddaughter, husband, Mr. and Mrs. Svend Larsen, came to Ephraim to take her home with them. Mrs. Beatrice Gillette, Norvals sister from Hernando, Florida, is visiting here for about three weeks. Theo Clark is a patient in room 206 of the Utah Valley Mrs. Zada Seeley of Bountiful brought her mother, Mrs. Kate Livingston, to Ephraim for a few days' visit. Kate is living at the Phillips Nursing Home in Provo and will return there on Monday. A daughter, Roxie Mortensen, invited several of her mothers old friends to visit with her and a brother, Shirley Zabriskie, had dinner with the family. They drove around Ephraim to let the visitor see old familiar sites. Mrs. Livingstons health has improved a little Roxie reported.' Mrs. Clinton (Ruth) Justeson returned home Sunday evening after spending last week in Salt Lake with her husband Clinton Justeson at two different hospitals. Clintons tests at the U. of U. Medical Center indicated that he should have immediate surgery on his heart. This was performed at the LDS Hospital on Friday. Ruth reported that he responded well to the operation due to his strong constitution but his condition remains serious. He is in the intensive care unit. The Justesons son, George, flew to Salt Lake from Los Angeles to be with his parents at this critical time. A birthday dinner honoring three members of Alta Nicholls family was held at the home of Elaine Reid on Saiturday. Alta's birthday anniversary, and that of a daughter, Mary Lee Hermansen. was on Saturday, and Elaine's was on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Reid came from Logan, Mrs. Alta Nicholls. Maeser Edwards and Kate Jones came from Bountiful and Mr. and Mrs. Reed (Ina) Starley, who live in Burley, Idaho, and were visiting in Bountiful, came to spend the day in Ephraim.
