WELCOME Since 1 am in my last year of high school, I would like to know how I can prepare for a modeling career. Would you recommend modeling school, for example? Mary Sue G., Buffalo, N.Y Dear Mary Sne: A fashion editor once gave me wonderful advice when 1 asked her how to become a model. She said: Take a typing course. It will keep you from starving while you're waiting. It takes time and determination to break into this over Jennifer a few tricks of the trade in the makeup department. Start experimenting with a number of different hairstyles you can do quickly and easily. Learn how to take care of your hair yourself. It is far too expensive to have to go to a salon every day to prepare for modeling assignments. Get into an exercise, jazz, ballet or some kind of body movement class taught by an instructor. Graceful body motion and perfect posture are of prime importance in modeling. Be as much a part of your day as eating and slecpjig. Speaking of eating, you'll need to start a healthful diet plan to enable you to lose the pounds necessary for you to This is someget model-thithing you can work on during your last year of school as it is better to lose weight slowly and regularly than to wait until ready to start moaeling, then go on a crash diet.
