Show The Salt Lake Tribune. Saturday. September I. r7.1 S.L. Returns Unpaid Tickets A stack of 2 parking tickcb which recened an 'improper discount will be returned unpaid to a private leasing lolat.ons company, Traffic Bureau chief Junes L. Budd said Frdav. The tickets issued to leased vehicles longterm belonging to Master Lease Inc. were called to the citys attention by company Mr. Budd sard The he city's policy, explained, is to charge leasing companies $1 for a meter violation because of the difticulty in collection, rather than the regular $3 charge billed the general public However, he said, that policy is for short leases, such as daily rentals and does not apply to autos leased for longer periods He said in that case, companies are requested to register cars n their client's names and citations issued to them are treated m the same manner as other tickets. But it vv as a mistake," Mr. Budd said, explaining Master Lease bought 250 sets of special stickers which designate leased for a short time only cars" from standard vehicles Thove stickers are sold by the violations bureau for a small fee and mod by meter mauls to identify leased cars when write citations they Those citations aie special marked, he said they .thyself at snowbird lor such otienses matter a of conven- Mr ience for everybody." Ciellin said, because the woik companies would have a haid time collecting from their customers and we'd have a hard time prosecuting them " He saw the discount was decided upon by both groups to save court costs and attorney fees Meanw hile. City Attoi nev Jack L. Crellm said the poliev of discounting ticlets does not violate uty ordinances because it has been agreed upon by the city's judges and r in SEPT. $ YEAR 12-1- concert Al TWO TRAINS WILL RUN HEBEB TO BRIDAL VEIL SEPT. 1. 2 8c 3.
