George, the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex commander at Robins Air Force Base, Ga. Current and retired leaders participated in a two-hour mentoring session prior to the dinner. The mentors passed down life lessons to approximately 360 college and high school students from the Washington metro area, who are interested in pursuing professions in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Suicide From Page 1 The Layton CTC has partnered with the Northern Utah HOPE Suicide Prevention Task Force, Hill Air Force Base, Davis Behavioral Health, Davis County Health Department, Intermountain Health Care and the Utah Veterans Affairs to host a community town hall meeting that aims to prevent suicide and help those who have lost loved ones. The meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Feb. 25 in the auditorium at Northridge High School, 2430 N. Hill Field Road, Layton. Kidman said the event should be attended by parents, civic leaders, academic leaders and faculty, faith-based leaders and anyone else interested in learning more about the issue of suicide in the community. The event will feature the following: guest speakers, including a suicide survivor; tools and strategies to help recognize the warning signs and take action; information on community resources. Youth who need to make up a "U" citizenship grade can do so by attending the meeting with their parents or guardian. No registration is required for the event.
