TriCare dental plan premium rates next year The TriCare Dental Plan (TDP) provides comprehensive dental care for more than 2 million enrollees worldwide including active duty family members and members of the Selected Reserve, Individual Ready Reserve and their eligible family members. Women's Equality Day volunteers needed The Equal Opportunity Office acts as advisors on behalf of the commander for special/ethnic observances and events throughout the year. The planning committee for the 2012 Women's Equality Day needs to be established. In 1971, Congress designated the day of Aug. 26, in the United States, as "Women's Equality Day." This date commemorates the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment, which gave U.S. women full voting rights in 1920. In order to properly plan and commemorate this observance, it is requested that each organization canvas their unit for volunteers who would like to chair or help with this event. Committees are established to properly commemorate all special observances throughout the year that will greatly enhance the efforts to recognize the continuous achievements of all cultures and increase cultural awareness, mutual respect, and understanding. Thereby enhancing cross-cultural awareness and promoting harmony among all military members, their families, and the civilian workforce. Weekly committee meetings will be held in the EO Office, Building 1294 South End. Date and time of the first meeting will be announced by the EO Office; follow-up meetings will be determined/announced by the committee. All volunteers should contact. Vivian Cumins (777-3516) or Tech. Sgt Melanie Aytch (777-4778) or email: vivian.cumins@hill.af.mil if interested in signing up for this committee. ROTC seeking officers to serve at BYU The U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is filling three Air Force officer vacancies for summer to fall 2012 at Detachment 855, Brigham Young University. Please consider coming to BYU for an assignment as an Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps instructor. It is a great career broadening assignment, or a capstone for your career if you are considering retiring in the near future. There have not been any volunteers approved by the Air force Personnel Center to fill the vacancies for the upcoming school year. It is not a requirement to be a BYU alumnus, but an ecclesiastical endorsement is needed. Working with and teaching the next generation of Air Force leaders and officers is a wonderful opportunity. BYU is ranked in the Top 10 of the nation with respect to size and performance. It is reported that the program regularly beats West Point and USAFA in rifle drill team competitions. Finally, Utah is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. If you are interested in being a AFROTC instructor at BYU, or know someone who is, please call or email 801-422-2671 or laura_leseberg@byu. edu . Devil Dash Race heads to Utah in August Devil Dash is the ultimate 5K Race for thrill-seeking athletes and party-goers. Utah's Devil Dash Race will take place at the Golden Spike Event Center in Ogden and will have participants leaping through fire, crawling through mud pits, climbing over cargo nets, jumping over tire mounds, scaling Satan's Tower and working their way through additional grueling obstacles themed after the 7 deadly sins. The first wave of the race will begin at 9 a.m., followed by waves of racers taking off to tackle the course every half hour throughout the day. Race Director Will Newcomer says, Devil Dash is an event that runners and spectators will never forget. After conquering an adventurous course with more than 12 natural and man made obstacles themed after the seven deadly sins, racers will celebrate with live music, beer and food, alongside their fellow devils and angels. Participants are encouraged to suit up in their best devil and angel attire and are crowned with shiny devil wigs prior to racing. Beer from local breweries and devil grub from local food vendors will be available for purchase. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the live music playing throughout the day and watch the racers tackle several obstacles near the finish line. Lifequest Transitions (LQT) is Devil Dash's Official Charity partner in 2012. LQT provides adventure programs for injured military members and hosts a variety of programs to help wounded warriors transition back to civilian life. Additionally, local nonprofit organizations can volunteer in exchange for monetary donations to their cause.
