Tommy Monzon, Tech. Sgt. Jay Marquardt The Hill AFB Rod and Gun Club hosted a Regional Sporting Clays Shoot on March 31. Over 81 shooters participated in the one-day, 100 target event. The overall winner of the event, with a score of 86, was Joe Sudsbury from Magna. The 2nd and 3rd place shooters were Todd Bigenwald and Tyler Taylor, both current members of the Hill Rod and Gun Club. HopeKids event sponsored by 75th MDSS members Tyler has his face painted by Senior Airman Jerry Roberts at a HopeKids event at the Hill Aerospace Museum March 31. 75th Medical Support Squadron 0 n Saturday, March 31, the 75th Medical Support Squadron hosted a HopeKids event at the Hill Aerospace Museum as its service project for March. Airman 1st Class Amanda Torres Stubee coordinated the event with HopeKids and arranged to have them come to the Hill Aerospace Museum to participate in educational tours, scavenger hunts and face painting. One hundred families were originally expected; however, more than 200 people showed up and there were requests from families to have more events at the museum in the future. When the families arrived, they were teamed up with the volunteers for the day. Each volunteer was responsible to help the children have a great day with their families by guiding them to the different activities that were set up. However, it was quickly apparent See Courtesy photo KIDS I page 8 Hill Idol competition on stage AFMC honors annual enlisted award winners Air Force Materiel Command Public Affairs BY KATINA W RIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio — Air Force Materiel Command announced its top enlisted Airmen of 2011 during the command's Annual Enlisted Awards Banquet March 29, 2012, at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. More than 350 family members, friends, wingmen and command officials gathered in the modern flight gallery of the museum to honor the nominees. Forty-five enlisted Airmen from throughout AFMC's headquarters, centers and specialized units were nominated to compete in four separate categories — airman, non-commissioned officer, senior NCO and first sergeant. Ally's exceptional leadership as a Knowledge Operations Journeyman resulted in the seamless transition of AFMC's server to the Air Force Portal. Additionally, she provided invaluable support to the Freedom of Information Act manager by tracking 200 cases and five time-sensitive congressional requests. For the third year running, The Landing (formerly known as Club Hill) is hosting the Hill Idol Contest every Friday night in April, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Landing will host The Hill Idol competition again on April 13, 20 and 27 and the final will take place on May 4 when the first place winner will walk away with $250, second place $50, and third place $25. Donnie Davis, Club Hill duty manager said that although the number of contestants is smaller this year, Hill Idol is seeing more talent in the contestants who come out to perform. Contestants can sign up at The Landing ahead of time between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. if they are interested in competing. For more information, Seel IDOL I page 8 |
