HISTORIC VISIT Some security card services have moved Restricted Area Badging (RAB), DBIDS registration, and Civilian Dependant ID Card Issuing have moved from the West Gate Visitor Control Center to the new Security Forces Building (408) north of The Base Exchange. Customer service hours at the new building are Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can reach the counter at 801-5865199. Visitor passes remain available at the West Gate Visitor Control Center (Building 1296) Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Saturday and Sunday. Air Force Materiel Command Public Affairs Report W Come 'snow' what may Chill on the Hill! Fun will be available for all inside and out at Chill on the Hill, Saturday, Feb. 11, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hubbard Golf Course. Inside the clubhouse there will be a variety of crafts, games, music and a cake walk. Planned for outside are additional weather dependent activities: Dress the kids up in their snow coats and enjoy building a snowman, snow painting, snowshoe and cross-country skiing on the golf course, sledding, sipping hot chocolate and toasting marshmallows. Oaks: 'Prayer works in big things and in small things' BY KRISTA STARKER Hilltop Times correspondent A prayer breakfast was held at The Landing (formerly known as Club Hill) on Feb. 2 in conjunction with the National Prayer Breakfast which is held in Washington, D.C. The guest speaker was Gen. (Ret.) Robert C. Oaks, a former commander of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe and a former general authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Oaks' remarks focused on how important prayer is to our country and in individual's daily lives. "Prayer works in big things and in small things," Oaks said. "It worked for the founding fathers as they laid the foundation for this Gen. (Ret.) Robert C. Oaks See PRAYER I page 6 RIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio — When the leadership of Air Force Materiel Command changes later this year, the command will be led by a familiar face who will make Air Force history when she takes the reins of AFMC. On Feb. 6, President Barack Obama nominated Lt. Gen. Janet C. Wolfenbarger to the rank of general, and as the next commander of AFMC. She will succeed Gen. Donald J. Hoffman whose retirement was also announced. A change of command date has not yet been announced. If confirmed by the Senate, Wolfenbarger will become the Air Force's first female four-star general and will return to familiar surroundings at AFMC. "I am humbled and honored to have been nominated by the President to the rank of general and to serve as commander of Air Force Materiel Command. I look forward to participating in the Senate confirmation process when the time comes. At present, I remain focused on the important Air Force acquisition work I've been charged with," Wolfenbarger said. Before taking over her current position as the military deputy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition at the Pentagon, Wolfenbarger served as vice commander of AFMC from December 2009 to September 2011.
