Roadshow on eLog21 at Hill, Sept. 12-15 Logistics, Installations and Mission Support - Enterprise View (LIMS-EV) hits the road and will be at Hill Air Force Base on Sept. 12-15, to increase awareness of the vast enterprise logistics capabilities available to the Air Force. LIMS-EV is the A4/7 Business Intelligence (BI) gateway providing a standardized data exploitation capability for reporting and analytics across all A4/7 business areas. LIMSEV provides a single entry point on the Air Force Portal that hosts a variety of BI capabilities in a flexible, dynamic webbased environment. This initiative provides reporting and analysis capabilities to users at all levels, strategic, operational and tactical through scorecards and dashboards. LIMS-EV continues to build an integrated BI environment that delivers "One Version of the Truth" for logistics and mission support data to warfighters across all Air Force Logistics, Installations and Mission Support (LIMS) business areas. One of LIMS-EV's key goals is to eliminate the major data disconnect between numerous legacy information technology systems and provide integrated information to our LIMS decision makers. LIMS-EV accomplishes this by leveraging the vast amount of data collected daily within GCSS-AF's Data Services warehouse. LIMS-EV consolidates different interpretations and implementations of BI for each commodity into a standardized authoritative enterprise solution. In this fashion LIMS-EV will be the BI providers of LIMS authoritative legacy information today and into the future. More detailed information on LIMS-EV is available through the Air Force Portal. www.hilltoptimes.com hilltoptimes@standard.net Vol. 71 No. 34, August 25, 2011 MEM. As her first position as a wing commander, Zabel took a few moments to answer some questions about herself, what her initial impression is of the wing and Hill Air Force Base and what she expects during her time at Hill. Q: What do you think of the 75th Air Base Wing and how does it compare to other places you have served? A: I'm very impressed with the 75th ABW so far. Base Theater Free Movies Saturday, noon — "Thor" (PG-13) Saturday, 3 p.m. — "Hop" (PG) Saturday, 6 p.m. — "Jumping the Broom" (PG-13) SENIOR AIRMAN MELISSA DEARSTONE/U.S. Air Force Team Hill youth and children showed off their acting skills for family and friends by performing "The Tortoise and the Hare" at the Youth Center on Aug. 19. The children tried out for parts and were given a week to rehearse their acting and singing skills for this production before show time. For more on the tryouts and pictures see page 9. here are indications that Hill Air Force Base could have reductions in civilian pay budgets for Fiscal Year 2012 which could potentially result in the need for a Voluntary Early Retirement Authority/Voluntary Separation Incentive Program (VERA/VSIP) the fall of this year (2011). Since the Air Force has set an aggressive timeline and potential effective date of Oct. 31, 2011, the Civilian Personnel Office will be accepting VERA/VSIP applications from employees beginning Aug. 26 through Sept. 16. Once the application window opens employees may apply through the Hill AFB VERA/VSIP Interactive Program Website (https://wbhill03.hill.afmc. ds.af.mil/vera_vsip/). The proactive plan developed by the Civilian Personnel Office allows employees the opportunity to apply for the VERA/ VSIP effort, should Hill AFB decide to utilize this initiative. We are proceeding AS IF we will utilize the VERA/VSIP authorities as a precautionary measure to ensure that if VERA/VSIP is needed, we will still be able to meet the effective date of Oct. 31, 2011. The Civilian Personnel Office will be advertising information on the VERA/ VSIP for the entire period of the application window. This information will be disseminated through management channels, Hill Top Times articles, as well as communications sent directly to the employees. VERA authorizes a lowering of the age and service requirements to allow approved employees to retire early. For some employees, taking the VERA could result in a reduction to their government retirement annuity. VSIP allows selected employees to receive an incentive payment of up to $25,000, before taxes, for voluntarily separating.
