She said the transition went incredibly smooth, but is quick to credit others, including the DLA team that did the planning, preparation and training for IMSP, and lessons learned from other forward DLA sites that already underwent the implementation. "We had smart post-production folks who taught us to handle tasks in DSS. After the training, we felt motivated and well-equipped to perform our new functions," Simbro said. "If our agency hadn't prepared us with training and helped us understand the process and new way of doing business, we would have been left with our faces in the dirt." DLA Ogden is managed by DLAs aviation demand and supply chain, Defense Supply Center Richmond. Air Force Col. Vic Wager, director of Aviation Customer Operations at DSCR, met with DLA Ogden employees recently to discuss a phased plan to merge DLA aviation personnel at Navy, Air Force and Army industrial sites into his directorate. "The purpose of this merge is to achieve efficiencies and meld retail and wholesale operations within a standard organizational construct. It makes sense to consolidate aviation demand and supply chain employees who face our customers," Wager said. That merge will mean more changes for personnel at DLA Ogden. And while a different team might not have welcomed the change, Simbro and her team are already talking enthusiastically about the opportunities and enhancements it represents.
