In a memorandum dated April 27 signed by 1st Lt. David Bullock, USAF Operations officer, the TSA gave the 75th Security Forces Squadron generalized guidelines set forth "to ensure the safety of all Hill Air Force Base guests" and re-emphasizing that Air Force guidelines grant 75th SFS the authority for security searches. Items specifically mentioned by name include, but are not limited to, the following: Firearms, knives and bladed objects, fireworks and explosive items, flammable material (including propane canisters), and flame producing objects. Items confiscated during this time will not be returned to patrons and will be destroyed by Security Forces personnel. The shirts are intended to assist community guests in visually locating personnel associated in supporting any of the numerous Air Force Week events and helps give a professional, unified image of Team Hill, says Valerie Burke, 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs Chief of Community Relations and Air Force Week Coordinator. There are three styles of collared polo shirts for sale: men's short-sleeved, ladies' short- sleeved and ladies' three-quarter sleeved shirts. All shirts are available in one of three colors of the purchaser's choice — red, white or blue — in coordination with the colors dominantly displayed in the Air Force Week Salt Lake City 2009 logo. The materials of all shirts are a blend of 60 percent cotton and 40 percent polyester fect. Each shirt will have a detailed "Air Force Week Salt Lake City2009" logo embroidered on the left side with an option to have the purchaser's name embroidered beneath the logo. Prices vary depending on style and size of shirt purchased. Cash or checks are acceptable methods of payment. The deadline for ordering and payment of the shirts is May 11.
