Gen. Kevin J. Sullivan plans his Summer Ogden Air Logistics Center Commander's Call Tuesday at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the base theater. An interpreter for the hearing impaired will be available during the 9 a.m. session. Force protection security measures will be followed, so those attending should bring their identification cards and leave unnecessary items behind. The 9 a.m. session is expected to be heavily attended, so anyone planning to attend this session should arrive early as the theater doors will be closed once maximum capacity is reached. The 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. sessions are scheduled to accommodate graveyardand swing shift employees and usually have the lowest attendance. The commander's call is mandatory for all ALC military members, plus GS-12s and above, but everyone is encouraged to attend. Free swimming available for some Family members of deployed airmen, grade E-6 and below, are eligible to receive free admission to Hill outdoor swimming pools this summer. Free swimming is possible, while funds last, due to contributions from the Hill Thrift Shop and the 388th Fighter Wing Wives' Club. The aquatics staff has been provided with a list of Team Hill deployers, and family members of these deployers will need to present identification for admission. For more information or for list verification, please contact Howard Howard, Aquatics Director, at 777-3471. 75th Services Division changes hours for Air Show The following facilities will be closed Saturday and Sunday: Arts and Crafts Center; Golf Course (also closed on Friday); Information, Tickets & Travel; Library; and, Outdoor Recreation. BY BARBARA FISHER Hilltop Times editor As of Monday, those entering Hill with valid ID cards no longer have to register their vehicles on base via DD Form 2220 or put registration stickers on the windshields of their vehicles. This change is a result of 75th Security Forces Squadron members brainstorming Air Force Smart Operations 21 ideas and deciding that since all personnel are checked at the gates for their ID, the vehicle registration is no longer needed. "This great idea will save tons of time of all the drivers on base since you will no longer need to re-register your vehicle," said Col. Scott Chambers, 75th Air Base Wing commander. "This will also help shorten customer wait times at the base's visitor centers and save precious security forces manpower, which can be better used on more important functions." Visitors to Hill without government IDs will still be required'to obtain an Air Force Form 75, Visitor Pass, or an IVIS pass for their vehicle. Short term visitors must visit either the South Gate Visitor Center (open seven days a week, 5 a.m.-6 p.m.) or the West Gate Visitor Center (open Monday through Friday, 5 a.m.-6 p.m.) to obtain the visitor pass. These include: • Current decals are easily copied or removed from vehicles and base members often forget to remove them when selling or trading in vehicles. • Today's copiers make duplication of the decals easier and, on hot days, or with the common hair dryer, it becomes a simple task to remove one of the stickers with a razor blade and re-apply it with a little contact cement. For now, motorcycle riders will still be required to have a decal because they are required to attend a mandatory safety class before driving on Hill. When the initial announcement on doing away with the decals was made via e-mail earlier this week, some employees raised concerns about potential security issues. Maj. Matthew McCon- Hill employees in the grade of GS13 are invited to attend one of two sessions on leadership development with Don Cazel, Ogden Air Logistics Center executive director. For those, in the 309th Maintenance Wing and the 508th Aircraft Sustainment Wing, a session is scheduled today, 10 a.m.-noon. For those in the 75th Air Base Wing, 84th Combat Sustainment Wing, 526th ICBM Systems Wing and Ogden ALC staff office, another session is scheduled June 19,12:302:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held at Club Hill in the main ballroom. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. GS-13s in any of r the associate units are also invited to attend either session. "I've met periodically with our GS-14s and 15s and I believe a session with our GS-13s is now in order," said Mr. Cazel, Hill's senior civilian leader and a member of the Senior Executive Service. "There is so much going on in our business these days and our GS-13s need to understand how important they are as leaders and as the direct face to the rest of our workforce." Attendance at the sessions is highly encouraged for all GS-13s, but is not mandatory. Wing commanders and civilian leaders or their designated representatives are also invited to attend.
