BY AIRMANJST CLASS CLAYTON MURRAY Hilltop Times staff TAvo Hill bowlers earned the opportunity to bowl against some of the country's best bowlers recently as they competed in the Air Force and Armed Forces bowling tournaments. Tech. Sgt. Martin Bedford, 75th Logistics Readiness Squadron, and Capt. David Ingraham, 75th Medical Support Squadron, were two of 22 Air Force members worldwide who. were selected to attend the Air Force bowling camp earlier this year. Because of their performance at this camp the two were then selected to represent the Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowling Championships in Reno, Nev., Jan. 11. The Air Force won the team event in both the women's and men's divisions of the Armed Forces event. The six Air Force men totaled 27,835, while the service's women counterparts scored 17,631. Bedford topped the men's field with 5,076. In conjunction with the Armed Force tourney, Bedford and Ingraham, 21 women and 22 other men from the Air Force, Army, Marines and Navy, competed in the United States Bowling Congress Team USA Championships. Bedford, along with two other military bowlers, qualified to play for a spot on Team USA, the nation's bowling team. "There were 56 games in one week," he said of the Team USA The CLIPBOARD Courtesy photos Tech. Sgt. "After three days they cut (the field) to the top 32 bowlers. I had a really great eight game block, but by the end of the week I dropped to fourth place." Fourth place was good enough to land him a bearth on Team USA. He also set a new record for the team when he bowled a 241 average in one eight-game series. Bedford, is currently traveling with Team USA. ••.-.
