The "sweet" part of the ceremony was Air Force Reserve mission: To provide Citizen Airmen to that of seeing so many of the familiar defend the United Stales and protect its interests through aerofaces I served beside and traveled with space power. Following CLSS deactivation, leadership hopes others will hear the call to donate food for needy families Remember Air Force, 419th FW mission, vision, values 419th Fighter Wing mission: To Fly, Fight and ....Win "Each year, my office would literally fill with food donated by each member of the CLSS," Chief Master Sgt. Scott Hennessy 419th FW Command Chief on numerous deployments. I myself spent almost twenty years as a part of the CLSS before moving on to other assignments. The caliber of the men and women of the CLSS can be matched but not beaten. Though their "mission is complete," as stated on their deactivation coin, the journey for many of the CLSS members continues. Many of these dedicated men and women will be joining the rest of the 419th FW in varying capacities. Some will serve as crew chiefs. Some will perform as back-shop, civil engineering or communication specialists, or maybe as medical technicians, transporters, etc. And, as they leave those family members they knew in the CLSS, they will come to better know the "rest of the family" in this great organization. One of the things that hopefully will not be missed following the deactivation of the CLSS is the kind-heartedness lhat was demonstrated during the holiday season. Each year, my office would literally fill with food donated by each member of the CLSS. Many wing families, as well as the local shelters and food banks, benefited from that generosity during times of need. Now, on behalf of the 419th FW commander, I encourage each of you to keep that spirit of giving alive. This year, many donations have been focused toward the hurricane disasters in the southeast which could result in a real shortage for our local shelters and food banks. As we once again approach the holiday season, I encourage each squadron in the wing, to create their own food drives and give generously to help those who will find themselves struggling this year. I salute each one of you who have served and continue to serve from the CLSS and every other squadron in the 419th. Each one of you continues to inspire me and make me proud to be a part of this great wing. Thank you.
