TOWN UNDER UNDER WATER great dam breaks and people are forced to flee from homes helena mont As a result of the bursting of the great dam at hausea lake on tuesday afternoon the town ot of craig forty six miles north of hel ena was buried under a twenty tool fool wall ot of water and thousands ot of dol lars jars worth of property destroyed the inhabitants had warning and es to the hills the hauser lake dam was corn com plated last year at a cost of 1 and many eastern capitalist are interested in the company the structure was feet long and near ly feet gave way and was washed down stream at the time the structure gave way about thirty men were at work in the power house which is situated about yards below the dam site on the north side ot of the river it is believed that all these men escaped and that no lives were lost at the dam A heavily loaded great northern train from great falls to butte nar bowly escaped destruction by the flood it was flagged just ii in i time by the operator at cascade and re turned to great falls not however before taking aboard a flock of sheep sheer whose pasture was under water
