within 45 days The policy is effective immediately It approved by the council was con- tingent on further research and the town planner’s rec- ommendations with amendments by suggested Marcelle y A period was chosen because that is the shortest time that builders would be able to finish a house for occupancy This would include sewer water 45-da- electricity natural gas curb and gutter storm drain systems and roadways ment There also have been some problems in the past with issuing occupancy permits Because of pressure put on the town by people who had been waiting unreasonable amounts of time to move into their completed houses occupancy permits were given with and water temporary sewage solutions Roads and curbs and gutter are still not complete in some areas No occupancy permit would be given if all of the work were not completed This would mean that no one would be allowed to move into his or her new house until everything was in place The one exception would be the completion of asphalt work if the weather did not permit it In a previous meeting with developers a compromise was reached so that developers could negotiate delays with the DRC on roadways and curb and gutter that were not in the immediate area of the new construction being given a building permit Marcelle suggested that any developer who was not in compliance within the 45 days would not receive any other building and occupancy permits until the problem was solved With this added consequence to the developer they will have to be more responsible or start losing house sales ask
