All children from infancy through 5 years of age and their caregivers are invited to attend for stories and learning activities. Every 3rd Tuesday: The Weber County Township Planning Commission meets at 5:00 p.m. at the Weber County Bldg. 2380 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Every 4th Tuesday: The East Huntsville Township Planning Commission meets at 5:00 p.m. at the Weber County Bldg. 2380 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Every Wednesday: K.I.D.S. (Kids Intuitive Dynamic Sensational) After School Program. The Ogden Valley Branch of the Weber County Library System will be sponsoring an “after school program” every Wednesday immediately following school at 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Elementary children are invited to partake of educational activities designed to introduce them to art, math, and science through books. April 11 - May 23: Clarence and Rosamond Sockwell’s “Photography and Poetry” Exhibit will be open to the public at the Ogden Valley Library. May 9: Ogden Valley Pathways meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Ogden Valley Library, which is a change from the normal monthly meeting held on the first Wednesday of each month. The general public is invited to attend. May 9: Children ages 3 to 6 years old may create a ceramic flower for the garden with instructor Nikki Hansen at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on May 9 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Parents may wish to provide some supervision. May 11: The Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden will hold an opening reception for its May exhibitions on Friday May 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Exhibiting in the Main Gallery: watercolors by Connie Schlepp of Ogden, and paintings and pastel drawings by Jamaica Jenson of Alpine; in the Carriage House Gallery: photography by Paul W. Muller of Ogden. Exhibits continue through May 31, 2001. Regular gallery hours: Weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Closed Sundays, and major holidays. May 12: Ogden Canyon Clean-up. Meet at Rainbow Gardens at 8:00 a.m. for a continental breakfast, at 9:00 a.m. at the Alaskan Inn parking lot for area clean-up assignments, and at The Oaks at 12:30 for a free outdoor cookout for all clean-up volunteers. There will be a drawing for prizes at the cookout. May 12: Explore special topic of Feng Shui with David Monobe and Susan Young. May 23: Travel with a group for the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts to view the Rodin sculpture exhibit on May 23. The bus will leave the center at 10:00 a.m. returning after 3:00 p.m. Bus fare: $15. Lunch is not included in the fare, but the group will stop to purchase lunch.
