The second conduit is being laid to accommodate anticipated future growth needs in the Valley. The new lines will run from the North Ogden City offices into Ogden Valley via the North Ogden Divide. The line will follow the County road from the top of the Divide, down the Liberty side to the sharp corner near the bottom at Chicken Creek. The wallet contained the owner’s Wells Fargo credit card, driver’s license and social secvrity card. A detachable face CD player was left unscathed. In another unrelated incident, cabin owners in the Sun Ridge development above Huntsville had their cabins broken into and burglarized during the past winter or early spring months. Curtis Bruen, formerly of Layton was taken in for questioning by the Weber County Sheriff’s office, and confessed to some of the bur- glaries. The suspect was released for a contractual period of time, failing to report back to the Sheriff’s office on time. Bruen drives a dark colored pickup truck with Idaho license plates. He is 6’ 2", has brown hair, and weighs about 190 pounds. The newly filled trench will then be topped with asphalt, becoming part of the roadway. The underground conduits will continue on down the pass into Liberty, along the highway through Eden, eventually making their way over to Huntsville at the Qwest Huntsville Central Office located west of the Ogden Valley Library. From there it will connect with a line that was installed last year from Mountain Green, over Trapper’s Loop, to the Huntsville Central Office. An additional line will branch off of Trapper’s Loop following the new Snowbasin Road to the resort area, then circle back down the new road on the alternate side. The new, improved fiber optic lines are necessitated by Olympic redundancy requirements. For security reasons, there must be a second, or backup system. Requirements also state that the lines must be buried and out of sight. the older copper lines now being used in the Valley, and that the upgrade will benefit Ogden Valley residents in addition to Snowbasin. The improvements are also intended to accommodate broadband SETvices.
