Show THE OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Page 8 Volume II, Issue XI 1 June 2000 “The World of Steve Johnson” Showcased at Rainbow Gardens By Astrid Boggi-Otto On May 5 and 6, Rainbow Gardens, located at the mouth of Ogden Canyon, presented Huntsville’s very own Utah preeminent western painter Steve Johnson, introducing his “Mama’s Little Cowpokes’ Art Show in honor of Mothers Day 2000. Johnson, a native of Huntsville, showcased a bountiful array of stunning pieces, including original paintings, prints, cards, afghans, calendars and trays. The public quickly filled up Rainbow’s promenade to take a peek, and to be the first to take home his latest masterpiece print, “Taught by their Mothers.” Johnson is a favorite of the Gardens. Members of the King family were especially delighted when, at Ogden’s Traces of the West Art Show 1999, the public voted Steve’s “Children on Parade” as the Best of Show, granting him Rainbow’s “Father” Harm Peery People’s Choice Award, a cash award of $1000. If you wish to view more of Johnson’s work, join him at the Traces of the West Art Show 2000 during Ogden Pioneer Days, or come to Planet Rainbow where his trays, cards and calendars are always available for his admirers’ delight!
