Hwy. 39 Community Asked to Contact the Bureau for Pathway The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) recently held a public meeting on the proposed Pineview Dam renovations. Ruth Monahan from the Forest Service requested consideration be given for a trail across the dam. The suggestion met with little enthusiasm. The BOR is currently soliciting public comment for their proposed Environmental Assessment (EA) in conjunction with their proposal. It is suggested that interested residents send in public comment asking for a pathway to run concurrent with the new road that will be reconstructed. The trail may provide a link to the G r e a t We s t e r n Tr a i l . I f s o , a request can be made for allowances because of its historical significance. Wi t h o u t improvements for pedestrians and bikers, crossing the spillw a y, b y m e a n s o t h e r t h a n a n automobile, will remain a hazard.
