L AW N CARE First Mowing - Mow the lawn s h o r t ( 1 1/2 t o 2 i n c h e s ) f o r t h e first mowing to help clean up the lawn and remove alll the dead grass. After that it should be m o w e d a t 2 1/2 t o 3 i n c h e s h i g h . F E RT I L I Z I N G A N D W E E D CONTROL Apply a turf fertilizer high in nitrogen to your lawn. Also a g o o d p r e - e m e rg e n t n e e d s t o b e applied the first of April to help c o n t r o l c r a b g r a s s , s p u rg e , f o x tail, and other annual weeds. This needs to be applied now before temperatures warm and weed seeds start to germinate! A broad leaf weed control herbicide works best when the temperatures are between 65 and 85 degrees. If it is too cool or too h o t t h e y a r e i n e ff e c t i v e . O n c e i t warms to these temperatures a good weed-n-feed can be used to fertilize and control weeds. HAPPY GARDENING!!!!
