Mountain Arts and Music is excited to return to our Thursday evening summer event Open Arts & Music. This is a time when you can come and be immersed in creativity! At the event, there are watercolor supplies on the tables, instructors to get you started and give tips on how to watercolor, and artists who bring their artwork in progress to work on. All this while serenaded by musicians of all abilities and instruments on stage playing a couple songs at the open mic. Young people and children are also welcome and given a special theme at each event, then guided in their drawing and painting by an instructor. The creativity and fun begin at 6:00 and lasts until dusk. Our goal is to get you doing art or music in a supportive, fun, and encouraging environment—it’s what Mountain Arts and Music is all about! For more information, please visit <www. ogden4arts.org> Independence Day Celebrations 2021 Eccles Art Center Announces Weekly Summer Art Fair The Eccles Art Center, located at 2580 Jefferson Ave. in Ogden, announces a Summer Art Fair in support of local artists and performers. The Art Fair will be held Saturday mornings July 10 thru September 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Art booths and two performer stages will be placed throughout the Art Center’s campus. Art from painting to pottery, jewelry to painted silk, wood to gourds, art prints to coloring books will be available to purchase. Each week, booths will include the work of many area artists with each Saturday bringing a new diversity of art. A variety of musicians and performers will busker on the two Art Fair stages. Bomba Marile, Brett Bishop, Lyrical Opera Theater, Nuevas Raices de Bolivia, Hit n’ Miss, Katie Ainge, Ogden String Theory, Painted Cards, Raven Spirit, Ryan Schneider, Sophya, Standards & Substandards, Wood Carver and Yudi will provide entertainment. AmpedARTS, a 501(c)3 arts organization, is thrilled to announce the return of live, in-person musical programming at the Ogden Amphitheatre on Saturday, July 17 as it presents Untamed POPS! featuring Chamber Orchestra Ogden. Musical selections will include uplifting marches, pop songs reflecting various genres and influences, and a new, upbeat fusion composition by Ogden’s own Alfonso Tenreiro who will guest-conduct. The concert will also feature dance— both audience participation and a new piece choreographed by Deja Mitchell, commissioned by AmpedARTS under its New Works Amplification/Commission project. It was designed to reinvigorate the local arts economy that was hit so hard by COVI-19.
