Ogden Community Joins to Make Ogden Arts Festival an Experience Art festivals traditionally consist of artwork on display in booths, food vendors, and performing arts. The Ogden Arts Festival works to make their festival more of an experience, rather than an event to simply stroll through. The festival committee is not alone in their efforts. Local businesses and community supporters are collaborating to make Ogden Arts Festival the art experience that it is. Circa3, an Ogden-based video production and video advertising company, and Peery’s Egyptian Theater have partnered with Ogden Arts Festival to start the Ogden Film Festival— an extension of the Ogden Arts Festival—a week before on June 2. Circa3 is heading up the film festival, putting in extensive effort to make sure that the art of filmmakers can be showcased in conjunction with the many other art experiences Ogden Arts Festival provides. Also, watch for Ogden Wide’s photo contest, which encourages professional and amateurs to capture the festival using the art of photography. Please join us in experiencing art June 10 and June 11 at Ogden Amphitheater. Admission cost is only $3 for adults; admission is free for youth age 18 and under. Snowbasin Resort Releases 5th Anniversary Free Summer Concert Series Line-Up Snowbasin Resort also has released their elevated line-up of nationally and regionally touring artists and bands that will fill the mountain air with music every Sunday afternoon this summer for the fifth anniversary of their Blues, Brews & BBQ Free Summer Concert Series. Blues, Brews & BBQ is quickly becoming the most coveted free concert series in all of Utah and this year’s line-up will not disappoint. The free, live music rocks Earl’s Lodge patio and lawn every Sunday 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. from June 11 thru September 24. Three bands will perform each week, playing everything from blues to funk and Americana to rock and roll, offering a family-friendly environment for everyone to enjoy. The 2017 Blues, Brews & BBQ concert series will kick off with Big Sam’s Funky Nation on June 11 and the fun will continue all summer long with crowd favorites and powerhouse bands like Los Lobos, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Turnpike Troubadors and Andy Frasco. “This being the 5th anniversary of Blues, Brews and BBQ’s I think we put some pressure on ourselves to really take the lineup to whole a new level. We took some risks we might not have in years past and basically said forget about the risk a little and focus on the possibilities. We loaded up each and every week. We have bands playing support this year that I would have no problem headlining any of our shows. We knew we had to exceed expectations and I think we have done that,” says Jason Ostler, Dining and Entertainment Manager. Check out the Spotifiy playlist for a preview, https://goo.gl/AXG5Hd.
