Women in International Business Conference— Practical advice for conducting business internationally A Women’s International Business Conference will be held Tuesday, June 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Hotel Monaco, 15 W. 200 S. in Salt Lake City. Business managers and leaders interested in international business and networking opportunities are invited to attend. Women executives and entrepreneurs face a unique set of challenges when expanding their businesses internationally. Attendees will receive practical guidance from business women and experts who have personal experience conducting business in international markets and advising multinational companies. Ogden - Crews are installing new fiber optic cable in the Ogden area, which links traffic signals and monitoring equipment to UDOT’s central traffic operations center. In the coming week, crews will be working on US-89 from Harrison Boulevard (SR-203) to 1050 East. The majority of work will take place to the side of the roadway, but intermittent lane shifts and restrictions may occur. Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrian use. Please move into open lanes as soon as you see signs advertising work ahead, and be aware of your surroundings as you pass through the work zone. Ogden Canyon - Ogden City crews continue to install a waterline that follows SR-39 through Ogden Canyon. As a result, travel on SR-39 is closed each day Sunday night to Friday morning, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.; and Friday night to Saturday morning from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., except for special closures when different times may apply. Eden - Work has resumed on safety improvements to SR-158 in Eden, and will continue for several weeks more. A chip seal was completed May 17 from the North Fork bridge up to the first Powder Mountain gate. Residents should watch for temporary lane restrictions along SR-158 over the next several weeks. Summer Alpine Pass Openings Big Mountain Highway - SR-65, the Big Mountain Highway, opened to all traffic for the summer season on May 17. SR-65 has been closed for the winter between milepost 13, about a mile south of the East Canyon Resort in Morgan County, and milepost 3 near the Emigration Canyon Road turn-off in Salt Lake County, since November 2012. The entire length of the roadway between these two points will remain in-service through approximately mid to late November. Motorists are reminded that winter storm conditions can occur on alpine pass highways well into the summer, and to consider this as they may their travel plans.
