They began the program, taking their places on stage, hacking and sneezing and dressed in robes. The audience was a bit suprised at this, but understood after the first song was sung—“The Cold and Fugue”—a fun performance for everyone. In addition to the music offered by the choir, Magdelina Workman and Debra Morris played harps, Kay Kilgore played the clarinet, and the rich sounds of trumpets were added by Randy Green and Eric Holmes, providing additional beauty to the final song, “Repeat the Sounding Joy.” Special thanks to Ruth and Dave Martin at the Hearthside; Brenda Murray and Joyce Montgomery for their efforts working with the choir; the special guest musicians, as well as the Chordette singers; and the attending audiences. Santa took time out of his busy holiday schedule to visit children at Eats Of Eden. Eats hosted a breakfast with Santa where kids of all ages enjoyed a hot breakfast and some time with the big guy and Mrs. Clause. The kids were all very excited to see Santa and to get a picture of him to take home. The Eats staff dressed in their holiday attire, and was equally excited about Santa’s visit. Everyone had a lot of fun and they are already looking forward to next year’s visit. Thank you Santa; we love you! The fourth, fifth, and sixth grade choir, organized and conducted by Valley Elementary 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Reneau, hosted a Christmas concert at the school on December 16. In addition to several numbers performed by the choir, individual students shared solo and group performances. The student choir also performed at the Christmas Village in Ogden. Throughout the school year, the students participate in early-morning practices, two days a week. The practices are held before school starts. The choir will now begin preparing for their annual spring concert. Pictured above is the Valley Elementary Christmas tree where food donations were made.
