New Book by Eden Writer and Performer Stan Tixier Now Available Eden resident Stan Tixier’s newest book Riptide is now available. Called “an engaging and entertaining novel,” Riptide is a tale of a thoroughbred with an outstanding pedigree but too ugly and deformed to be considered a serious prospect as a racehorse or stallion. The bay gelding, Riptide, displays his courage, intelligence, and huge heart as he overcomes a series of obstacles to become a winning racehorse, a steeple chaser, and a 4-H Club project. Varied owners use, abuse, and love him as he perseveres through threats and challenges to win respect and admiration. Readers will cheer for Riptide, who may very well become one of your favorite horses. Tixier states th at th e id ea fo r th e book came fro m a co w b o y p o em o f th e same title.
