We are the only nation on earth where, by law, we are responsible to selfgovern. I stand upon that principle and I will never surrender. The foundation for our republic is set on the simple two sentence principle stated in the Declaration of Independence beginning with, “We hold these truths . . .” signed by proxy for each and every person who loves liberty. Unrealized goals were established for U.S. citizens in the Preamble to the Constitution with “We the people...” I will continue to strive for liberty, truth, and justice with honor and honesty at <www.rogeriprice.com> I work to reestablish boundaries within which free men and women may have abundant opportunity, and escape from all forms of tyranny. Editor Lack of Respect for Leash Laws a Concern I am writing concerning your photo and narrative of the moose confrontation printed in The OGDEN VALLEY News for October 15, 2006 by Bob Wadman of Nordic Valley. Two laws are broken here—one, the Weber County leash law, and two, harassment of wildlife by dogs. The photo illustrates the scoff-law attitude of dog owners in the upper valley. those who feel it is their God-given right to allow dogs to roam free regardless of laws, and regardless of the rights of other residents. I have lived in Nordic Valley for 30 years, and the upper valley for 40, and the unleashed/free-roaming dog situation has never been worse. My wife and I cannot jog in Nordic Valley or throughout most of the Eden/Liberty area without carrying weapons. You'd think that ex-cops like Wadman would have more respect for the law.
