Wolf Mountain Announces Return of the Popular Soapbox Derby April Fools Day event to wrap up 2006 ski season Jeff Summers of Wolf Mountain Ski Area has announced the return of the popular Soapbox Derby, which is scheduled this year for Saturday, April 1—one day prior to the resort’ s planned closing date of April 2. “If you’ve ever seen a Warren Miller movie, then you know what a soapbox derby i *s basically an ‘anything goes’ type of race held primarily for fun. People can skior ride on any device that’s hill worthy. It’s not uncommon to see sofas, Lazy Boy chairs, and bathtubs; and because the event also falls on April Fools Day, its anyone’s guess what other surprises we might see,” Summers commented. The event will start at 1:00 p.m., with lots of great music to entertain the crowds, on ‘Oh My Heck Hill’ off the Wolfdeedo Chair. It will be a timed event with gates to maneuver. Folks needing help towing their contraption up the mountain need to be at the base by 12:15. A small pond will be dug at the base to help stop the more unruly contraptions, and all participants will required to sign a waiver before participat- ng. “Even though this event is really just for fun, we are always concerned about safety here at Wolf Mountain. The resort will reserve the right to reject entrants e their rig is deemed unsafe.” noted Sur Great prizes from local cnet will be offered for the following categories: ® © ® ® © e Wildest Contraption Best Costume First place Second Place Third Place Best Tailgate Spread 15, 2006 OVBA Presents New Ogden Valley Telephone Directory—Phone listings _ available on www.ovba.org omSra By tsiness Association The |pee VBA) Ogden Valley ; Association is pleased to snare the distribution of the new Ogden Valley Phone Book.
