The Ogden Valley Branch Library recently wrapped up its annual series of programs celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The library celebrated the ionhd birthday of this American icon with a special After School Program on March 1. The entire event was devoted to the life and work of Dr. Seuss. Nearly 50 little “Whos” joined the library for an afternoon full of Seuss-tastic stories, games, and crafts. Children and families in attendance were also invited to test the limits of their taste buds with a heaping serving of green eggs and ham; surposingly the eggs were a big hit, and many ked for seconds! The program concluded with each little Who creating their own Seussinspired creatures; there were Willy-Wallos, Hoodwinks, Juggling Jotts, and even a few Mulligatawnys! The library also hosted special Dr. Seuss birthday parties for the first and second grades from Valley Elementary. Two hundred students participated in Dr. Seuss pop quizzes and were treated to special readings of Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories. Each student left with a special Seiy treat and their very own recipe for Ooblec The a Valley Branch Library would like to thank all the little and big Whos who helped make the 102"4 birthday bashes of Dr. Seuss a huge success.
