We invite residents to send their announcements to: 15, 2006 To the Community of Ogden Valley I would like to provide a brief update on the progress of the proposed track at Snowecrest Jr. High. At the current time, we are still accepting and seeking donations at the school and through the Weber School Foundation. Donations made directly to the Weber School Foundation are tax ductible. As some may recall, a fundraising event was held at the Red Moose Lodge in October where approximately $2,000 was generated Donations were also made from individuals totaling $5,500. In the month of February, students at Snowcrest pooled their change and raised $400. The Valley Market has maintained a donation container at the checkout stand where shoppers have donated approximately $350. With over $8,000 having been raised, the fund for the track is now only short approximately $5,000. Because donations in labor and material from local businesses are being sought, it is difficult to determine the total amount of money still needed. talking about track, it’s that time of year ae vita students are out on the roads running after school. While full time track doesn’t start until the end of March, a voluntary conditioning and running group has begun, and meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On average, there are about 20 students participating and we are having a lot of fun. Until the pathways have been cleared of snow, these students will be running on the roadways. When approaching a runner please show your support by either moving over or slowing down. It only takes a moment out of your drive to do so, and your considerate actions could save a student’s life. To everyone who has donated to the track and shown their support to me, the school, and the students, my sincere thanks. If you need more information on how and where to donate, you can call Snowcrest directly at 476-5360. Russia. Not only were they buying things with our card, the fees for out of country VISA charges had also really added up. They ended up getting over $1,500 out of our account in two days with about thirty transactions. I called our credit union right away and they closed the card and reversed the charges. They said they knew ofa scam where a list of account numbers had been stolen. But our account number was not on that list so they were not sure how this happened. Rikk did travel out of the country to Canada a few weeks ago, and the thief may have gotten the card number off of something during that trip. Or, maybe it was from something purchased over the internet. However it happened, I wanted to put a message out to all of you to let you know to keep an eye on your bank account. Cynthia Beck, Eden Resident Warns of Scam Wendy Einnarson, Eden I wanted to write to let everyone know about some sort of scam that is going on right now. | don’t know how this happened, or who did it, but it happened to us just a few days ago. I went on line to check our bank account and noticed the balance was down a bit more than it should be. I checked the activity and, sure enough, someone(s) had been stealing money out of our bank account with our VISA check card. All of the charges were out of Moscow, MEASURES Cnn (809) 94S-9667 If you would like your submitted items returned, please send a stamped, selfaddressed envelope. Children 13 to 18 may also receive the Tdap booster if they have completed the childhood vaccination series Until now, children have often received the last scheduled dose of a pertussis vaccine at 4 to 6 years of age. But immunity to pertussis through vaccination is known to wane over time. While the impact of the new vaccine on disease incidence has yet to be seen, historically, vaccines have proven to be instrumental in the control and prevention of nany types of diseases, including pertussis. Because these vaccines are now available to adolescents and adults, they are likely to play an important role in more effectively preventing pertussis in the community.
