ASID, the American Society of Interior Designers, is a community of designers, industry representatives, educators, and students committed to interior design. The American Society of Interior Designers is the oldest and largest leading professional organization for Interior Designers. Carol Fallon has been a_ professional member of ASID Poi 1990. The Intermountain r covers Utah, Wyoming, Montana, ad Idaho. As professional development chair, one of Carol’s goals is to help the Chapter become more cohesive. Having practiced design in Wyoming, Montana, and Utah, Carol says she is very aware of the challenge demographics play in this large chapter. She also to ASID 15, 2005 Board Nature/Bird Walk says that she feels very strong about designers continuing their education; thus, she will be working hard to provide educational events. Page 5 Schedule The Layton, Wild Bird Center leads a free nature/bird walk Saturday morning. The cost of the walk, as we like to say is “enthusiasm,” we provide the rest. We leave the store at 10 a.m., (unless otherwise noted) and car pool to the destination. The walks are designedd for birders at all levels, especially families. The works of this talented artist will be on display in the Lorna Wattis Swanson Gallery through November 28. in painting, wildlife sketches, and portraits, he continued to artist. A few years later he discovered the airbrush and began to explore a new known for his murals, which are often described as “life like.” His first mural can be found at Fremont High School in which he depicted a pack of wolves—the school’s mascot. He has also painted entire rooms that immerse you in another location, such as a beach oasis or an underwater coral reef. His latest endeavor is carving, most Wood often fish but occasionally other wildlife. “When creating a piece, I first select a species. I then research, by collecting picture reference material, and design a composition. The piece is then cut from local wood, and carved using various power tools. Once the carving is com pleted, I paint primarily with an airbrush carving by Spencer Alexander. Spencer William Alexander loved drawing from an early age. Encouraged by teachers, neighbors and family members, he explored many different mediums. From the beginning his imagination was captured by dinosaurs, which could be seen by the many drawings he fashioned. In fact, a majority of his schoolwork was enhanced by his prehistoric creations.
