Show December 15. 2000 North Summit Senior Citizens BY LOOSE FALLACY Bill Hersh Christmas time is a loscly time of the year and the new fallen snow makes our beautiful valley look like a lovely Christmas card. Certainly helps me get into the Christmas spirit even if I do have to wear my hoots and put my feet down very, very carefully. The high light of the week was helping Bill Hersh celebrate his 90th birthday. That's right. I said 90th. and what's more he sull wears the same size trousers that he did when he was sixteen and his hat is the same size loo. I wonder, how many of us can say that. We also celebrated little Corey Jacobsons third birthday. Corey has been a member of our center almost from the day she was burn and has endeared herself to all of ns. One I might say. she has more grandparents than anyone. We had more birthday cake than you could shake a stick aL June and Frank Toole furnished ice cream to go with the four cakes. LaRiu baked one for Corey and one for Bill. Kathy Wilde brought one for Wild Bill and when he arrived with his family, we had yet another one and all nicely decorated. I bet you can guess what we had for dessert and our sweet tooth was further satisfied by the fresh gum-drothat Mary Mair brought. Bill was proud to introduce his family, his daughter. Jennie James, from Casper. WY. and his granddaughters. LaVonne and Patsy and we were delighted to make their acquaintance and have them with us. We also had Commissioner Sheldon SUMMIT COUNTY ASSISTED LIVING I P.O. Box 10SS SO W. 00 N. Kamas. The problem: each year in the United States about 4.000 pregnancies are affected by neural tube defects (NTDs), which are severe birth defects of the hrain and spine, such as spina bifida. Those horn with spina bifida, the most common NTD. have life long physical disabilities. Every woman is at risk for having a child with a NTD whether she has had a healthy baby with the first or a subsequent pregnancy. The solution: over 50 percent of neural tube defects will be prevented by taking a multivitamin that contains the B vitamin, folic acid, at least one month before pregnancy, in addition to consuming a healthy diet. Fond folate (folic acid from food) is found in orange juice, spinach or other green leafy vegetables and legumes.
