I may have missed something, hut I'se always been of the opinion that when a candidate has the clear lead, and the other candidate concedes - that's it. It's all over. The table has been run. 1 here's not supposed to be any reneging, recanting, nor reentry. The contest is over. But what's following now. is just one helluva mess. And it leases me with the impression that no matter who eventually wins, the loser may end up in the better position of the two. I think the average citizen would have trouble trying to locate anyone who was not totally soured on the entire fiasco. We do have more people getting angry, the two candidates are still showing they have staying power (one going to church, one jogging or playing ball), and the majority of people are just saying get it over with already. What a program we are teaching our youngsters! If you don't get your way. then pout and scream until you get what you want. In this case there is only going to he one winner and hopefully the other candidate will bow out gracefully and give their total support to the winner. Dream on, right? Guess we can hope Thanksgiving Day is on its way or in some rases gone past for another year. Did you take time to prepare that elegant meal for two (your first time alone as a married couple), clean the house from top to bottom to impress family members coming for the turkey, or did you eat out at a restaurant to avoid the mess? Did you take a vacation with those extra few days off from work? Did you take a nap or scream for your e, er There are those great upbeat moments that you just have to record in your memory bank of time. There are those that plunge you to the bottom of the barrel. Through it all, however, there is one constant. It was ours, it belonged to us and no one experienced those events the way we did. There were several deaths that really hit me hard this year, but (here were also new births that brightened up my life. There were mistakes made that I am sorry for with all my heart, but there are also times that showed I really did have some common sense and the right decision was made in the end. I have really enjoyed meeting a number of new people who have entered my life and made a positive impact on me. I have also enjoyed keeping up my friendships with those who I am lucky enough to be label as such. To those, I owe so much as they are always there for all the kind the who in and massive exhaustive helped people search for my son. Gage Wayment. It's hard to express in words the deepest appreciation I have for my family. neighbors, friends and perfect strangers who came to my aid in my time of need. Utah's community spirit was evident on the mountains above Coalville. I will forever be grateful for the prayers, the kind words of encouragement and support given to my family and me. It's far easier in' this day and age to place blame, judge and then execute a person's character. But this tragedy has shown me that love and human compassion for a man who is far from perfect still prevails. I would like to thank the search and rescue teams from Summit. Salt Lake. Wasatch, Davis and Weber Counties who supported this important effort with their dogs, horses and equipment. I also would like Utah Highway Patrol and Salt to thank Lake County helicopter pilots, American Search Dogs Inc., Rocky Mountain Rescue Dogs, Inc., friends and Mr. Kim Olson from Electric Co., who paid 22 of his employees a day's wage to search the rugged terrain for Gage. From time to time, there arc those special moments that are just cut out for relaxing, a time for reflection of "times past and living out the events that became memories during the past II months of your life. 4 and rescue team members searched hard and tirelessly in hopes of finding Gage alive. When the official search was called off, hundreds of people called my sister to volunteer with our family search. There were people who dropped everything they were doing and gave of their time and resources to look for Gage. There were those who offered to make sandwiches and called stores and asked for food items and drinks to take to the volunteers. Thank you Harmons Grocery Store for answering those calls. There were those who helped answer telephones, moms who offered to baby-s- it for those who went to the mountain, a man named Gary who donated a product called Fire Rock that helped sun fires that kept the volunteers warm. The list goes on and on. Please forgive me if I've forgotten to mention any of contributions during you for your this horrific time. I also would like to give special thanks to the man who has suffered menial and physical agony on my behalf, the man who risked his own life to bring my son back to me. Mr. Jim Wilkes.
