Freshmen Dominate Tournament ' Student Writer: Grog Pirrry Lady Braves The North Summit Frrshmru hosted on nil dny tournament this past Saturday. Teams from Manilla, Juab and S.L. laitheran came. Starling seed play at 9 a.ni all teams played each other for placement in the afternoon tournament. The lady B rates lost a couple of seed games but still went into the tournament in second place. (They are still underrated in league play for the year.) This group of girts are very talented and seem to just know how to win. Juab was the first team they had to get past. The Wasps just couldnt stay with our Braves. Lady Braves Sweeping in two straight games. This put North Summit in the tough Freshmen game against S.- I- Lutheran. They played strung and were able to beat most of the teams they faced. North Summit found themselves playing Salt lake Lutheran in the championship game. The lady Braves held their own and beat llieir opponent in two games 13-- 2 and 13-1- 2. The North Summit Freshmen team is having a successful season. They are undefeated and looking to take on the Rowland Hall Winged Lions on Tuesday. Sept. 26. The Freshmen Braves will he playing in two more tournaments. One at Juab on Sept. 30 and another home tournament on Oct. 14. the Braves get in excellent field position. With a fourth down on their shoulders. a field goal was attempted but didn't make it through the goal The North Summit Braves Varsity Team traveled Football to Grantsville to take on the Cowboys for their homecoming game. They came to play and it was an intense game, with the defense playing a big factor in the game. Throughout the entire game, the Braves shut down the Cowboy offense, making excellent tackles. North Summit's offense was also shut down until the fourth quarter when one last drive, led by Quarterback, Jake Duwnard helped posts. The game then went into an ova-lim- c. where the Braves were unable to stop the Grantsville offense on their final drive, making the final score Grantsville Summit 0.
