Kamas, Park City and Coalville participated in a tournament in lleher City on July 6th. 7th and Klh. The Coalville team had their first game on Friday against the Cardinals from lleher City. Coalville played hard and won. Their next game was on Saturday morning against Kamas. It was an exciting game and both teams played exceptional softball. Kamas defeated Coalville by one point in the bottom of the sixth inning. Fast-Pilc- Coalville returned to the Held Saturday' evening to play the lleher City Yankees. Over 20 runs were scored by each team and Coalville, behind by three starting the bottom of the sixth inning, was able to get the runs needed for the win. Immediately after their win they faced Kamas in the Championship game. The Coalville girls tried hard to gather up strength but were defeated by Kamas. It was a fun tournament and the Coalville team went away proud of h i ' U On July 6th,7th, and 8th, Wasatch County Recreation held a softball tourney for teams from Heber, Park City, Kamas and Coalville. The Summit Recreation team, coached by Melanie and Rex Mitchell, consisting of girls ages 13 and 14 traveled to Heber on Thursday where they played Park City for the first game of the tourney. It was quite a game..with Summit Rec coming out.as the winners. Friday found the team from Kamas again in Heber playing a team from Heber they had previously lost to in league play. Summit their with win. On second away the themfound Saturday, girls selves playing at 10:13 in the morning against another Heber team, with Summit Rec again coming out on top. The girls were on their way to playing in the championship game. At 6:43 on Saturday evening, the team once again meet on the playing field. This time against a team from Coalville they had not played previously in league play. It was a but rewarding game, as Summit Rec came out on top winning the SummitWasatch Softball League Tourney for 2000 with a 4- O' record!!! It was a fun and exciting season for these girls who had a 2 season record before coming into the tourney as 2nd cede.
