Show The Summit County Bee Page A8 North Summit Senior Citizens BY I.OUSF. WALLACE to have Karen Ballard with us again and to see Gordon Taylor even though he stayed only a short time. We were, or at least LaKita was glad that Cindy McGcchee was there on Wednesday when she got the call that her new granddaughter was about to he born. Cindy took over so LaRita could leave and the baby arrived safely before she got there. We had a special day Friday. Besides it being Gert Willoughby's birthday we had Gayla Muir and Sharon Smith from the offices of Mounlainlands, Mary Smith from Kamas and Joyce A Lynn Mitchell from right here in Coalville. Then we had a Patriotic' program arranged by Gen Geary. Mary had come to give us final details on the trip to Tuachan in August. We will he seeing two shows, "Fiddler on the Roof and Musk Man" plus we have been promised the very best meals imaginable. The cost is $135. double occupancy. The Outreach Social is July 27th. We will leave the center at 9:00 AM and should be home in the early afternoon. It's at the new park near Hcher and all you folks over 60 are It was nice We thank Shirley I helps fur writing last weeks article ami a fine joh she did too. Now, if anyone else wants a turn, just say the word. I went to Kooskia, Idaho to the 6th- - annual Clearwater Musk & Poetry Festival with Loraine Rock. Betty Wilde, Bonnie and Smith Marjorie Caldcrwuod and Mary A Elliot Brooks joined us there. Loraine is an excellent driver so we had a relaxing ride through the tiful alpine type of scenery. I can't say for the test of them, but I certainly had a good vacation. Of course, it was extra special for me because my sister, Nita Arnold from Pocatello was reciting some of her poetry in that section. If all goes well. I hope to go again. President Shirley Phelps conducted our meetings. Jennie Madsen came and invited us to help out with the Intergencrational Program whkh is to help the youth. The, theory is that we can help them and learn a whole lot by doing it. If you can give only an hour or more to read or just to talk with the kids or maybe just to listen to their ideas it would benefit all involved. Jennie is open to suggestions and would he happy to give you more information. Her home phone is 3362135 and the work number is 435 901 1010 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. invited. The program was the best. The flag was displayed with Grant Geary and Lyle Willoughby occupying the seats of honor to represent all veterans. Gen gave the reading of The Flag" in which the unknown author reminds us that we no longer show the proper respect the flag should get. I hope to do better. Gram sang a song, Joyce Mitchell gave a nice reading then Cindy McGeehee played patriotic musk on the piano. The program ended with her playing and Grant singing "God Bless America" and then Isabelle Judd led the congregation in singing it once more. We are so very fortunate to be citizen's of the United States and living right here. Gayla Muir and Sharon Smith gave out earned RSVP (to do with Senior Volunteer Program) pins and RSVP pen holders with pens. Thanks ladies and we will see you at the Outreach Social next week. It's a good thing we have turns and rolaids because we are gening so many varieties of food these days. Its no wonder we have gas on our tummies. I hope I'm not like Ate lady in this story though. A lady went to the doctor and said, I have this problem with gas, but it doesn't bother me too much because when I pass gas it never smells and it always passes silently. As a matter of fact, I bet I have passed it at least 20 times just since I've been here in your office and you didn't even know it". The doctor says. Ah, I see. Let me South Summit gone and you come back to noth- Senior Citizens Betty Jones is still with us but she tells me shes without furniture and has nowhere to sit until she leaves for Wyoming.
